The Baltimore City Directory is available for the following years: 1752; 1796 to 1860; 1860-1930; 1936; 1937; 1940; 1942 and 1956.
Most directories give full name of the employed adults in the city, occupation (sometimes place of employment), home address, whether a boarder and sometimes wife’s name or deceased husband’s name. The directory is very helpful to narrow any death date, where family lived and when person moved. This information maybe helpful in finding birth and death records. It will greatly assist in locating a person in the Baltimore City 1910 and 1930 US Census that is not indexed. Please provide “SURNAME” and specific year or range of years to search.
The Fee $6.00 per single surname spelling for each year, which includes postage & handling. Example: Surname “FONTZ” and “FONCE” fee is $12.00 for the 1930 Baltimore City Directory.
